A Pidgeotto can be spotted flying down below on the warm, cloudless day. As the land turns far beneath the passenger's feet, the interior cabin is relatively quiet, save for the noise that is being made by its inhabitants. Three planes, one each from Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova, each taxi in to the airport in Platinum City within thirty minutes of one another. As your group individually retrieves your possessions from the turnstiles, you begin to hunt for your driver, a man by the name of Nathaniel whose picture you were given. Sure enough, as you reach the reception area, you see a large group of chauffeurs holding signs with various names on them, and you spot Nathaniel amongst the crowd. He's under dressed compared to some of the chauffeurs in tuxedos, and is wearing a red flannel shirt and blue jeans, both of which appear fairly weathered. He's holding a sign over his head that says: "Marcus Geta" "Mae Stram" "Seth Ironwood" The sheer amount of people maneuvering through the area makes movement difficult, and the noise is nearly a cacophony.

Seth walked through the crowd trying very hard not to lose his hat or bag. Large crowds always bothered Seth not for any particular reason he just didn't like it. "I don't recall any word of travailing with others. Then again I didn't actually the invitation." Seth mumbled as his Clauncher climbed onto his shoulder from his bag. He walked up to the "chauffeur". "Ahoy I be Captain Seth Ironwood. I harbor a guess that ye be my ride." Seth said looking at the oddly dressed "chauffeur" puzzled.

As Seth approaches, Nathaniel seems to have a flash of recognition cross his face. He looks up, to the back of his sign, and brings his gaze back down, waving at you as you come closer. As you speak, he crinkles his face in confusion. "What? It is really loud in here! I'm supposed to take you and the others to Professor Mondrian's lab!"

"So do you have any idea of when the others will be getting here?" Seth asked now speaking loud enough for Nathaniel to hear him. Foster began to poke at Seth wanting them to get out of this loud crowd.

Mae got off the plane in a foul mood. First was a 'talking to a brick wall' conversation with a stewardess who was somehow convinced Sync would 'hack' the plane somehow, and would need to be placed in the ball and had a lock put on it to prevent from being let out during the long flight. Then came the nearly-propagandic video during the last stretch depicting how the region will let you catch soooo many new types of pokemon that had just been found after the freak storm.
Mae wanted to put her head through the plane window.
After they finally landed, she practically ran off the plane and released Sync once more. Finally back with her true friend in this world, she tries to push her little frail body through the throng of people trying to get out of the airport. Sync floats behind, trying to help her get past people easily twice her size. She finally makes it behind Seth, practically panting at this point. She makes the best attempt she can to shout over the crowd.
"Sorry I believe there must be a mistake of some sort. I was told that I would be driven-"
She shoots a glare at the 'captain'.
"-alone.
Although it's hard to tell with all the noise, that last word was laced with a lot of venom.

Crowds of people were always a mixed blessing for Marcus. On one hand they made it far easier to pass unnoticed, especially due to the pokemon trainer's preference for unique clothing. On the other hand they always made for unwanted physical contact, lost time and interactions with unpleasant people. And given the obvious irritation of the girl with the Porygon, it didn't look like the day was going to get any better.
"Excuse me." He says, just loud enough to cut across the background noise. "I think we're all here now, can we get moving?"

"Well I guess that answer my question. I don't recall any word of travailing company but this beats playing cards with me first mate here." Seth said with a slight laugh as he turned to see the two other. He took a second to study the two and the Porygon.

"Oh, fantastic, that didn't take long at all! If you're all ready, we can go." Nathaniel leads the group out of the airport, and you find the throng of people extremely easy to navigate following directly behind the large man. Once out in the parking lot, Nathaniel heads to an extended SUV parked a fair distance from the exit.
"Please excuse the mess inside. I'm typically driving cargo, not people, but with all the pokemon trainers flocking to the region, job postings for transport have been everywhere. The League pays well to licensed drivers." He throws open the door of the van to reveal a nearly immaculate interior, save a few stains in the back of the van that appear to be soil ground into the floorboards. There are three spots available to sit in, shotgun, and two in the first row of the backseat, which is also the only backseat chairs as the others have been removed.

"Well I'll be calling shotgun here matey. I happen to like seeing were we are heading." Seth stated getting into the car. He doesn't really wait for any arguments here.

As the driver basically ignores her, Mae can't help but let out an audible "...really?" before sighing and following the man.
When they get to the car, and Seth quickly called shotgun, she rolls her eyes. She says with an obvious mocking tone, "Sure thing 'matey'." before getting into the backseat behind the driver, with Sync following and floating just above her lap. The porygon seems a rather chipper sort compared to it's master, although they had all been through long flights so it could just be that.
"I just hope this doesn't take long."

"Where are we headed first anyway?" Marcus asks, taking the last seat and fiddling with the cuff of his jacket as he gives the Porygon an interested look. He'd never seen one 'in the wild' before. Sure, he'd seen the Silph Co ads with them and read about them in Charon's files but they had remained elusive. Still, he'd have plenty of time to examine it once they reached their destination. Hopefully Platinum City was it - he was desperate to find out about their technology.

"We be heading to Professor Mondrian's lab but beyond that I can say." Seth answered as he moved his Clauncher on to his lap. He thought for a moment and continued. "So what is your two names. I read the sign but I'd rather introduce myself. I be Caption Seth Ironwood and this be my first mate Foster (the Clauncher)." Seth said sort of turning to see the two in the back seat.

"Yes, but where is that? I haven't had a chance to look at a map of the region yet?" Marcus pauses and plays the conversation back in his head. "I'm Marcus Septimia Geta. Student of Mad Science and electrical master. Jupiter doesn't do well in confined areas so I won't be letting him out anytime soon." He pauses and thinks for a few moments. "Jupiter is an Elekid and is both my first and only pokemon. I don't intend that to last too long."

Nathaniel gets in the car, and his weight causes the vehicle to momentarily dip, causing a small locket wound around his rear-view mirror to wobble about. It appears to have a photo of a woman and a teenage girl inside.
"Welp, little miss, I'm afraid to disappoint. The ride usually takes about eight hours. And sorry I didn't answer you earlier in the airport. Crowds make me antsy. With as many people coming to the region, the League likes to group people up for transport to the professor's lab. After that, what you choose to do is your own prerogative, although most trainers tend to find a few allies to partner with, simply because the wilderness is a dangerous place, and having people guard your back is always wise."
He gets on the open road, and answers Marcus. "We're heading for a small town on the border of the region called Cadet Town. You'll meet Professor Mondrian, get signed up for the League of the region, and assuming he's done working on them, acquire one of the professor's new Pokedex. From there, it's up to you. Most trainers head south, but there is a port city to the north. Hard to do much more than that though without a strong swimming water pokemon. There's also a gym down south in the second town that is a popular early destination."

Seth found the "Student of Mad Science" comment very odd. That not something someone admits too. This was actually a good thing for him. "So Marcus what be your business here in Bromid? I'm not much of a collector or researcher type so at the moment I'm just here to sight see and check on a job offer I was given." Seth said to break the silent of the car ride.

That was a slew of things I didn't want to hear.
Mae considers smashing her head a few times against the door frame but decides against it. Instead she looks up to the rest of the car, and starts addressing the 'concerns' raised.
"Well thank you for at least apologizing after the fact. Let it be known I do not hold 'you' personally responsible for the leagues mistakes. Either in not informing me correctly beforehand that I 'might' have some peace and quiet after a non-stop flight to here from Unova, or in not providing options for me to persue myself. I could have easily paid myself for a single ride. Especially when this 'professor' is eight hours away from the ONLY AIRPORT. But... as I said. This is more on whoever hired you, or their boss, or boss's boss, etcetera. I do not blame you for lacking in impossible knowledge or merely picking a job you yourself do not do in the effort of earning more. There is nothing wrong with that."
Mae looks to Seth in the passenger side.
"As for names, I am Mae. Mae Stram. And lets get something straight off of the bat. I would assume that by traveling here during it's peak trainer influx, you Mr. Geta, and you Mr. Ironwood; that you both are here to at least participate in the Bromid League. I'll let you know now that it will be unhealthy to get any feelings of grandure. I and my Porygon Sync will be the two to topple the champion and claim that right as our own. I will be no means stop any of your attempts to do so, in fact they will make for great strengthening experiences, but don't expect any other outcome. Fame, money, power, means nothing to me. I have a point to prove and I will 'not' be stopped."
She looks to Marcus next.
"That point is that trainers who can't keep there balls in there bags, and catch recklessly without thinking about the LIVING CREATURES they are putting in electronic storage, are going about this the wrong way. And an abusive way. When I said Sync and I will be champs, I meant ONLY Sync and I will be champs. I will prove to the world that spending your time capturing more pokemon proves NOTHING."
Mae sinks back in her seat, putting a hand on Sync's head.
"I'm sorry if that felt long but it's something I will bring up to what's most likely going to be many of the trainers I'll meet. So you won't be alone in enduring."
She pauses for a minute as Seth speaks to Marcus, before looking at Seth herself.
"If we are indeed questioning things like his profession, then I must bring up a point to you, Mr. Ironwood. If you are indeed a 'Captain', then why not take your boat here? It seems like having access to that would be better then what we are doing. You'd have actual control over your path here and not have to shell out obscene amounts of cash for a long flight plane ticket."

Seth looks over at Mae with an angry look at first but calms himself. "It's funny you say that. I see you already have great hatred towards me. I understand most people do. I won't bore you with anymore but hear this I'm not here to catch many Pokemon or challenge the league. I have a job to look into and that's that. Seth said with a shaky voice.

Mae looks at him for a while, scanning the man for a bit, deciding he was being truthful enough about his desires.
I may have made him upset, but I shouldn't consider that a bad thing. It means my words carry weight with some, and maybe I can turn people along the way. One can only hope.
"Oh I don't have hatred toward you. Especially if you really aren't here like most to go crazy on all the new pokemon available. You are already on the right side. And my question wasn't a joke or anything. If someone is talking like they jumped out of a pirate movie claiming themselves to be a Captain, you'd expect them to be a captain of something. And like I put forth, taking a boat that you own probably saves you money and headaches. Not to mention a bit of precious freedom in your actions."

"I'll just let my hyperactive and easily irritable Elekid out in a plane that I and dozens of others are relying upon to ferry us to the region. Or maybe I'll let him out in the car, which will lead to him challenging your Porygon to a fight - partly out of pride, partly out of boredom. Or I could do the smart thing and keep the energy being in the perfectly harmless storage that also keeps others from stealing him." Marcus says to Mae with a frown, Jupiter's yellow and white pokeball in his hand.
It was rather unbelievable that someone would espouse such a philosophy in a hostile manner after the disaster that was Team Plasma and Ghetsis. Far worse was Mae's obvious habit of jumping to conclusions. Far too many pokemon were too volatile or otherwise unmanageable to have freely moving around society. Still, no reason to leave her ignorant.
"And I thank you for your unkind assumptions. I am here to investigate the astonishing technology Platinum City has at its disposal and further my research on the nature of pokemon. Because I do not solely intend to capture pokemon. I shall decode the longest mystery known to man and create them. Just like the accident that birthed the Voltorb species and the ancients that molded the Golett and Sigilyph species. So feel free to claim fleeting glory by taking the championship. I'll be making history." He says, glaring at Mae after returning the pokeball to his pocket.

Mae looks entirely confused for a moment.
"No... I didn't misspeak. But maybe I must use clearer words. I have nothing against the use of a pokeball itself. For those who wish pokemon companions, the technology is way too helpful when pokemon need rest or healing..."
She takes out Sync's ball, and stares into it.
"What I mean is trainers who go out there, with a disconnect in their minds. Pokedex's in hand, just trying to find new types for their local Professor's research, or their own fantasys of catching all of them. When a living creature can be stored in a pokeball, sent off to a computer to be stored somewhere. Never brought out again to explore the world, or reach their potential. Left to sit in there, for hours, days, months..."
She puts a hand on Sync once more.
"...years."
If they looks back, Mae seems to be lost completely in her own thoughts, hardly paying attention now.
